P & C Association

The Mount Barker Community College P & C meets in the staffroom every fourth Wednesday of the month at 7.00pm. The P & C meeting provides an important forum for a two-way flow of information between the college and parents. The role of our P & C is to develop strong partnerships between parents and the college, to support parenting and to fundraising to extend the curriculum and improve the college environment for all.

P&C provide an important service in running the College Canteen and supporting School-Based Traineeships for students to achieve Hospitality certificates.

To keep up to date with the happenings of the P&C please like the ‘Mount Barker Community College Parents and Citizens Committee’ Facebook Page

Your support is appreciated and everyone is encouraged to attend.

Caroline Bedford

I am involved in the College in two different capacities. As a parent having a son in year 7, as well in a professional capacity with an outside education support service. I have been actively involved with the P&C since my son began at the college in kindy. I have worked in range of different roles over the years, beginning with secretary of the KP sub-committee as well class liaison also for the KP sub-committee. In recent years I have lead the fundraising sub-committee before taking on the role of president in 2018.

Vice President – Lisa Lynch

I have two sons that attend the college and have been actively involved in the school community since our eldest started kindy. In that time I’ve held numerous roles and am currently the Vice President of the main P&C.

Through volunteering with the P&C I’m supporting our children’s education and enjoy working with staff, students, and friends of the College to make a contribution for the benefit of all students.  I look forward to another successful year for the P&C.

Early Childhood – Sharon Lynch

I am a parent of two children and have lived in Mount Barker for over ten years. My background is in administration, project management and farming. I enjoy volunteering in the community and with the MBCC P&C to help raise funds to purchase resources and make improvements for the benefit of all the students who attend the College.

Canteen Liaison – Jane Beck

By way of introduction, my name is Jane Beck.  I joined the Mount Barker community almost a decade ago and married Wesley Beck, a secondary teacher at the college.  Together we have two children, Felicity in year four and Matthew in year two.  I have a background in IT Security and as a PA with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Since moving to Mount Barker I have become involved in the community with Plantagenet Players, Playgroup, St John Ambulance and the early childhood P&C.   I enjoy sewing, cooking and various crafts and am currently studying Dip Nursing full time in Albany.

I’m a keen supporter of our College and in pursuing great outcomes for staff and students.  I believe in a holistic approach to education including literacy, numeracy, mental health, social and life skills for both our children and future generations.  I’m keen to listen and speak on behalf of those who can’t.  New ideas are always food for thought.  Please contact me at any time via email Jane.beck@westnet.com.au.

Fundraising – Nat Vesey

Promotions – Holly Cousins

I have three boys at MBCC who are in classes ranging from EC to high school. I strongly believe my involvement at the school enriches their education and school life, and for me, it helps keep me informed and provides an opportunity to give back to our community.

YouthCare – Kerri Spink

RoadWise – Leon Pitt

I am a father of three boys who have all attended MBCC, two of which are current students. My wife and I run Mt Barker Auto Electrics

We are pleased to serve our community through our business and church and  I wanted to join the P&C to help out with another opinion and voice to support the great work the P&C does.  I also sit on the RoadWise committee as a P&C representative.
