Students need to complete a total number of 15 units of competency over two years to attain this qualification. There are three core (compulsory) units (AHCWHS201 Participate in work health and safety processes, AHCWRK204 Work effectively in the industry, AHCWRK209 Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices). Some of the other 12 competencies we are delivering include Provide feed to livestock, Muster and move livestock, Install, maintain and repair fencing, Identify and mark livestock and Apply chemicals under supervision.
Practical work is carried out on the College farm, students may be involved in outside excursions and industry shows or field days.
The certificate is delivered over 2 years (Years 11 and 12) under instruction from Mrs Trevlyn Smith and Mr Jay Rowles.
