In accordance with the Department of Education’s policy, Mount Barker Community College requests a voluntary contribution of up to $60 for students in Years K to 6 and up to $235 for students in Years 7 to 10. These contributions pay for classroom resources and consumables. All course charges in Years 11 and 12 are compulsory, with costs dependent on the subjects chosen. Extra charges apply for activities like camps, incursions, and excursions. The college also requests voluntary contributions to fund various projects and activities. Secondary Assistance Scheme
The Western Australian Department of Education provides an annual allowance to eligible families to assist with secondary schooling costs. To be eligible, the parent/guardian must hold a Services Australia (Centrelink) or Veterans’ Affairs card that represents a statement of income for the family. The allowance consists of a $300 Clothing Allowance paid directly to the parent/guardian or school and a $235 Education Program Allowance paid directly to the school. Parents or guardians of students in Years 7–12 enrolled in a full-time secondary course at a Western Australian public school can apply. Eligible cards include Centrelink Health Care Card, Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card, and Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card.
